7th Annual Azhwar Mahothsavam

It is a pleasure to invite you all to the 7th annual three-day Azhwār Mahothsavam in our temple, which is scheduled to take place on October 2nd through 4th, 2009. The festival will include Kalasa Arādhana, Azhwārs Ahishékam (‘Thirumanjanam’), Sri Purusha Suktha, Sri Suktha and Bhu Suktha Homams, Abhishékam of Sri Mahalakshmi, Sri Andāl and Sri Venkateswarā, Garuda Sevai of Utsava Perumāl and Divine Wedding (‘Thirukkalyanam’). The special feature this year will be the dedication of a new Gold-plated Cradle (‘Swarna Sayana Thottil’) with ‘5-headed Snake (‘Adhisesha’ ) to the main Sanctum Sanctorum. On the first day, there will be Abhishékam for Uthsava Perumãl and the Azhwārs in the morning session and Homams and Abhishékam for Sri Mahãlakshmi and Sri Aãndal followed by the dedication of the Swarna Cradle. On the second day, there will be Abhishékam for the Moolavar followed by Garuda Sevai of Utsava Perumāl and on the final day, there will be a Divine Wedding of Sri Mahãlakshmi & Sri Andãl with Sri Venkateswarã. There will be traditional music (Nadaswaram’) performances as well. As in the past years, we will be recognizing the works of a chosen Azhwār and this year, will be the turn of Sri Thondar Adi Podi Azhwār. All are cordially invited to participate with your friends and families and partake the blessings of Sri Venkateswara Perumāl, Sri Padmãvathi Thāyar and Sri Andāl as well as the Azhwārs. Those wishing to donate for the Swarna Cradle are kindly requested to make the cheque payable to the ‘Hindu Temple Society of Canada’ and mark in the memo section “Azhwārs Festival/ Sayana Thottil”. Sponsorship fee for the entire three-day function including Azhwãrs Thirumanjanam, Sri Purusha Suktha, Sri Suktha and Sri Bhu Suktha Homams, Perumāl, Sri Mahã Lakshmi Thāyār, Sri Andāl Thirumanjanam, Garuda Sevai with Azhwārs Mangalashasanam and Thirukkalyãna Utsavam is $201.00. Sri Venkateswara Brahmothsavam

We are pleased to inform you of the start of the Annual 9-Day Sri Venkateswara Brahmothsavam Festival, beginning with Flag Hoisting ceremony on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009. The Chariot Festival slated for Thursday, September 10th. The De-hoisting of the Flag will take place on Friday, September 11th. Abhishekam, Yaaga Puja, Sthamba Puja, Vasantha Mantapa Puja, Procession of Lord Venkateswara in various Vaahanaas, to the accompaniment of traditional music, mornings and evenings, are daily features of the Brahmothsavam.
