Maha Sivaraathri & Laksharchana for Sri Maha Lakshmi

We are delighted to inform you that our Temple is all set to celebrate in a grand manner, Maha Sivaraathri, on Sunday, February 22, 2009. Starting off with a special Sri Rudra Homam & Abhishekam for Sri Chandramouleeswarar and Sri Thiripurasundari at 10:00 AM, Maha Sivaraathri will, as usual, be observed with Abhishekam for Lord Siva between 8 PM and 5 AM (on the night of Feb 22nd and morning of Feb 23rd - the Temple is open all night), in four sessions (also called 'Jaamam'), to the accompaniment of Rudram & Chamakam chanting. Bhajan and cultural events will be performed throughout the night. The full schedule of events is available at our Web site. Those wishing to sponsor any of the events are requested to contact the temple office for further details. All are cordially invited to be present and participate in all the events on this special occasion and attain the blessings of Sri Chandramouleeswarar and Sri Thiripurasundari. Remember, this event happens just once a year, and as such should not be missed.

Tamil month of 'Maasi' is very auspicious for Sri Maha Lakshmi and starting on February 28, 2009, the Temple plans on performing special 'Lakhshaarchana' (Archana performed 100,000 times) for Sri Maha Lakshmi, at the rate of 10,000 times a day for 10 days (10:30 AM and 7:30 PM daily), culminating on "Maasi Maham" day on March 09, 2009. This is a very unique opportunity for devotees to participate and partake the blessings of Sri Maha Lakshmi.
All events are covered extensively in our Web site and you may wish to look up therein for any last minute changes. Please feel free to forward this E-mail to your friends and relatives who may benefit from the above.
