Guru Peyarchi Homam at our Temple

We are delighted to inform you that our temple has made special arrangements to celebrate Guru Peyarchi (transition of Planet Jupiter) on 06th December, 2008. Of all the Navagraha transitions, three have greater impact and consequences on us - they are Guru, Sani & Raaghu-Kuthu. While Sani transition elicits fear, Guru transition elicits hope and lot of expectations. Guru Bhagavan (also known as Brahaspathi) transits from Dhanur Rāsi (Sagitarius) to Makara Rāsi (Capricorn) where He will stay for the next one year. Those born under Rishabham, Katakam, Mesham, Mithunam and Simmam can mitigate the negative effects by prayers to Guru Bhagawān. A special Homam will begin at 8:00 AM followed by Abhishekam and Pujā for Guru Bhagawān and Sri Dhakshināmurthy. Contribution for the Homam is fixed at C$ 51.00. We cordially request everyone to participate in the Guru Peyarchi Homam & Abhishekam and partake the blessings of Guru Bhagawān and Sri Medhā Dakshināmurthy. Skanda Sashti Vratham - Soora Samhaaram

We are pleased to inform you that the Temple is arranging to enact the popular Soora Samhāram event, as part of the ongoing Skanda Sashti Vratham, on Monday 3rd November 2008 at 5:00 PM starting with Abhishekam for Sri Murugā, Sri Valli and Sri Devasenā followed by Vansantha Matapa Pujā at 7:00 PM and the Soora Samhāram during which Lord Muruga destroys the demon Soora Padman. This is a very popular event and we cordially request your presence with family and friends. Children in particular, will thoroughly enjoy this event.

The next day, on Tuesday 04th Nov, 2008 starting at 6:00 PM, there will be a 'Kalyānam' or Devine Marriage, of Sri Murugā with Sri Valli and Sri Devasenā. All are invited to attend and partake the blessings of Lord Murugā.
