Sri Arunagirināthar Day on September 26, 2010

We are pleased invite you for the annual Sri Arunagirināthar Day to be celebrated at our temple, on Sunday, Sep 26, 2010 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, under the auspices of "Toronto Thiruppugazh Anbargal". As many of you are aware, Sri Arunagirināthar was a 14th century saint who composed almost 16,000 songs on Lord Muruga, such as 'Thiruppugazh' and 'Kandhar Anubhuthi'. 'Thiruppugazh' in particular, is considered as one of the major works of medieval Tamil literature, both for its poetical and musical qualities, and for its religious, moral and philosophical content.
On this auspicious day, members of "Toronto Thiruppugazh Anbargal" will offer a musical worship consisting of 108 of his songs composed by Sri Arunagirināthar, as they have been doing every year. You may recall, a couple of years back, the group dedicated a silver garland to
Lord Muruga, containing inscriptions of these verses.
All are cordially invited to attend and partake the blessings of Lord Muruga and Sri Arunagirināthar.
